  • Ask about allergens when you order: US food law names nine major allergens (milk, eggs, fish, shellfish, tree nuts, peanuts, wheat, soy and sesame), and kitchens can tell you which dishes contain them.
  • Restaurant inspection results are kept by the city or county health department; many publish them online or post the latest grade at the door.
  • For table service a tip of 15–20% is customary; at counter-service places tipping is optional.

We have been going to Herman’s Boy for our coffee needs for several years now. We usually buy at least 5 single pound bags. Side note they give you a 10% discount on the total coffee bill when you buy at least 5lbs. We choose our favorites each time we go. Sometimes we buy the whole bean to grind ourselves or have them grind it for us. Here you get an actual 1 lb bag for less than you pay for the 12oz bags you buy at the stores. We also get their bagel sandwiches which are excellent. Their coffee comes from many different places in the world and they roast it right there. In my opinion it is tons better than the big name brands. Besides if you are buying from a local business it helps them directly, instead of buying the coffee from big supermarkets and the brands they sell. They also have some great choices on some specialty meats, spices, teas etc I believe for us, without a doubt, it is worth the drive from Grandville to Rockford for their coffee and specialty items. I think you will enjoy and agree should you choose to give them a try.

I love Hermans boy! The person who took out order, James, was incredibly kind and helpful. The food is always amazing and the lines are never to long. The food is good priced and they have fresh pastries every day. Would definitely recommend!

Oooooh my goodness! Stopped in this morning for a coffee (vanilla latte was the best) and they have a brisket dog special and it was divine! I know....who eats a hotdog at 9am? Me! And I will do it again for as long as they have it because it was AMAZING!!

Great little establishment that has history behind it and the moment you walk inside you will know that this place is history everywhere you look. They have everything from dozens upon dozens of different coffees, to meats, to fresh-made fudge, and chocolate treats; to other kinds of desserts. There is a full menu where you can order a meal and sit down in one of many numerous little quaint hide-a-ways in the place that are cozy and quiet for a perfect one-on-one meal. The staff are beyond friendly, professional, super helpful, and will go out of their way to make your experience at Herman's Boy an enjoyable one. I for one have been there many times because of the treats and the service....plus the fudge (don't tell my wife 🀫).
